Two Solitudes Launches Match-Making Service for Canada Media Fund Projects

Toronto, March 30, 2010 � Coinciding with this week's launch of the new Canada Media Fund (the CMF), Two Solitudes Consulting is launching a new service to help producers and broadcasters find the right interactive media partners for their projects.

"Calling this a match-making service really over-simplifies and understates what this is all about," notes Alan Sawyer, Principal at Two Solitudes. "It's a familiar concept and catch-phrase, but this isn't about arranging a blind date and then disappearing. Anyone can do that - often with disastrous results. Two Solitudes will stay involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the project to ensure satisfaction and top-quality results."

Traditional TV professionals often find themselves in unfamiliar terrain when it comes to interactive projects. Likewise, interactive developers often don't understand the world of television and its complexities. "By bridging these worlds, we enable both sides to better communicate their visions and constraints," adds Sawyer. "Sometimes it seems these two groups are speaking different languages entirely. I'm bilingual, though, in that I speak both 'TV' and 'tech' and can bridge the gap between these two worlds."

The CMF offers much latitude in choosing creative interactive elements, and finding the right mix for a project can be a challenge. By working with the TV producer to define a realistic high-level vision and budget for the major interactive elements, and ensuring that the creative elements are appropriate from both a target-demographic and technology standpoint, meetings are only held when a possible collaboration makes sense for both parties.

Drawing on a network of trusted partners that span the range of interactive content from casual games to complex web and mobile initiatives, Two Solitudes facilitates meetings with prospective interactive firms to find the best match for the project. Beyond that, there's a continuing involvement through the negotiations, plus monitoring and facilitation of the entire process through to final delivery.
