GamesCom 2011 -- Despite various global economic challenges, the digital media and video game industries continue to thrive. People like to play games -- especially in tough times. Over the past two years, Canada's gaming industry has expanded 11 per cent annually and is forecasted to grow 17 per cent in each of the next two years. Executives from the Ontario Technology Corridor are at GamesCom to demonstrate the province's "winning combination" of talent and tax credits. Canada is one of the world's top three game producing nations.
Shaftesbury Films is going to Australia

ABC Children's TV today announced Resistance, its biggest budget children's live action series, will be the first production to use the South Australia Film Corporation's new facilities in Adelaide.
Resistance is a 26 x 30min series costing $14 million. It is a co-production between Australia's Persistence Productions and Canada's
Shaftesbury Films. It will screen on ABC3 in late 2012 and in YTV Canada.
