DescriptionLaunched in December 2009, Totally ADD will take what you think you know about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and turn it on its head. Created for adults with ADHD and those affected by it (family, employers, etc.), Totally ADD liberates people from the fear, shame, and stigma that can accompany this often misunderstood disorder. Through education, humour, and social interaction Totally ADD provides the tools and support people need to create a life they love. Totally ADD includes: TotallyADD.com: a site devoted to providing reliable, credible, and current information about ADD/ADHD. It includes a variety of videos, diagnostic tools, articles, community forums, and other valuable resources. Workshops and Events: opportunities to learn, laugh, and connect with ADDers and professionals serving the ADD community. Educational Materials: Books, videos, interactive tools, webinars, and links to the information people need to flourish while living with ADD. Role: Community Co-ordinator Critical to the success of Totally ADD is the ongoing interaction with a diverse group of people, from individuals living with ADD and those who love them to medical professionals and the allied health community. In order to meet this need we are currently looking for a Community Co-ordinator to join our team at our office in Mississauga (Port Credit). The position will start as a contract/part-time role with a scheduled transition to full-time hours. Duties of the role include: - site content updates and maintenance - ongoing community outreach (eg: Facebook, Twitter, subject-specific sites, etc.) - database administration - primary customer service support, monitoring, and reporting - assist with special event planning and implementation - research (industry news, related events, community response, appearance and funding opportunities, etc.) - assist with implementation of online webinars - general office administration
QualificationsQualifications include: - in-depth knowledge of WordPress or other blogging applications - some experience using HTML an asset superior written and verbal communication skills - detailed understanding of interactive technologies and best practices - discretion and ability to respect the confidentiality of community members - ability to develop a comprehensive knowledge of ADD and the needs of various stakeholder groups - occasional evening / weekend hours may be required to assist with special events
