![]() McLean Greaves Vice-President Interactive Content ZoomerMedia Limited | McLean Greaves serves as the Vice-President of Interactive Content at ZoomerMedia Limited where he is responsible for driving a multiplatform strategy involving radio, a national magazine, CARP and soon, national television. Prior to ZoomerMedia, Greaves was an Emmy-nominated executive producer at CBC Television where he developed the groundbreaking nightly user-generated TV series, ZeD. Greaves also served as a VP of Content at the HBO division, Volume.com and is a well-known veteran in new media going back to New York's Silicon Alley in the 90s and even the late 80s where he worked at SoftKey Software under the guidance of CEO Kevin O'Leary, of Dragon's Den fame. |
![]() Albert Lai co-ceo/co-founder kontagent | Albert Lai is a co-founder & co-ceo at Kontagent, his 5th startup, which is a facebook funded, viral analytics platform startup based out of San Francisco and Toronto. Albert sold his first internet company, MyDesktop, an online publishing network, while in his teens to JupiterMedia (JUPM) for 7 digits in cash. Before that he pioneered the first CD-ROM yearbook (think: a crazy attempt at building a Facebook without the internets) in the early 90s. He also produced one of the first "viral" AdvertGame (on floppy disks) in Canada in the mid 90s. Most recently he was the founder/CEO of BubbleShare, a critically acclaimed photo-sharing company sold to Disney/Kaboose in 2007. He helped start and host the first DemoCamp, a tech "unconference" which takes place around the world, been invited to speak at TED, and also likely drinks more carbonated water than you do. ![]() Paul Bernier Web Analytics Specialist Adviso | Paul has a large experience with the implementation and interpretation of Web Analytics tools for different business models, be it B2B, B2C or content driven. Specialized since 3 years at Adviso more precisely with Google Analytics, he has been a core element in the accreditation of Adviso as Google Analytics and Website Optimizer Authorized Consultants. Paul has a Master in E-Commerce from HEC Montréal and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. He is currently working with the Bell Fund on a web measurement project of TV driven websites. |
![]() Andra Sheffer Executive Director Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund | MODERATOR: Andra Sheffer is the Executive Director of three private Funds supporting the Canadian new media, television and film industries: the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund which invests in Canadian television programs and their associated interactive digital projects; the Independent Production Fund which invests in dramatic series created for any platform; and, the COGECO Program Development Fund for the development of dramatic series, MOW’s and feature film companies as well as the production of MOW’s and series. From 1979-89 she was the founding Executive Director of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and produced the annual Genie and Gemini/Prix Gémeaux Awards. She lectures on the business and financing of television and new media and is the editor of New Media, New Business: The Producer's Guide(2001) and Create a Winning Proposal - The Handbook for New Media Producers (1999) as well as the co-editor of MAKING IT: the Business of Film and Television Production in Canada (1986 &1995). Previously she served as the Managing Director of the Toronto International Film Festival, and with the federal government as a Certification Officer setting up the original CAVCO office (and Canadian content “point” system), and at the Film Festivals Bureau promoting Canadian films internationally. |
