Mark Sorrell is a leading light of the UK future-media scene, with a special interest in two-screen content. Currently working at BAFTA 2012 nominated Somethin' Else, a leading content design and creation company, Sorrell is the soul of the company's games and broadcast strategy. As well as being a major interactive content producer, Somethin' Else is the UK's largest radio independent and a TV entertainment indie.
Sorrell has spent the past decade at a roster of the best TV production houses and broadcasters, including Sky and Fremantlemedia, a role that put him at the centre of the creative/commercial overlap. His previous work includes many of the world's most innovative interactive TV programs, including the first social game/TV show hybrid - "Scoreboard" and the world's first interactive, two-screen gameshow, the Dutch show "Intuition".
His blog - www.bewareofthesorrell.com is a favourite of the UK television and gaming industries has found itself quoted in Channel 4 strategy documents, among others.
Jeanette Lee advises clients on intellectual property, entertainment, marketing, and branding law issues, with a special focus on the entertainment, media, and interactive industries. She assists clients in protecting, licensing, marketing and enforcing their intellectual property.
She has advised and represented clients in a range of initiatives including the production and licensing of interactive and web content, branded entertainment, brand licensing, video games, virtual worlds and social media, film and television licensing and production, sponsorships, endorsements, merchandising, advertising and marketing matters in all media, promotional contests, publishing, music, e-commerce, consumer protection, content and marketing-related privacy issues, trade-mark and copyright protection, licensing and enforcement.
Jeanette joined Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski Richmond LLP in 2009, after practising at McCarthy T√Štrault LLP in Toronto. Prior to that, she practised in-house at national media company, and with large IP boutique law firm. Amy Miranda is one of the most awarded integrated producers in North America, and she knows how to make a production feel easy. She draws on over 13 years of Interactive, Creative, Strategic and Operations experience delivering internationally award-winning digital solutions. Amy's work has garnered her multiple Gold Cannes Cyber Lions, One Show Pencils, and industry recognition for both high quality creative - and results.
She began her career in the early days of CNN.com in Atlanta and since then, Amy has produced, conceptualized and managed thousands of large-scale campaigns, applications and solutions ranging fromfrequency programs to e-commerce sites.
Her ability to assess, strategize and implement, coupled with her passion for creative have made her one of the interactive industry's creative production experts. She's worked as an Editor, Designer, Developer, Technology Director, Project Manager and Director of Production at companies including CNN, U8TV/Alliance Atlantis, Henderson Bas, TAXI and Grip Limited.
In May of 2009 Amy moved forward in executing her unique vision for integrated production made easy with the launch of Lunch.Lunch is a network of companies who work both together and separately to create high quality integrated work for clients, agencies, and production companies. Lunch has already been awarded internationally for their work to date.
Amy is a frequent speaker at conferences (FITC, NXNE, TEDX), and universities, frequent awards show judge and is also known for her non-profit work in founding and curating Canadian think tank Inter-action.
Fergus Heywood is an award-winning transmedia producer, digital strategist and technology geek who's been living, working and playing on the web since the heady days of Mosaic. With a varied professional background in music, film, television, radio, and traditional advertising, he brings a multi-faceted approach to telling stories online and continues to push the boundaries of digital narrative using any and every means available. In his present role, he oversees the interactive side of CBC's Comedy, Drama, and Documentary programming, creating compelling content that extends entertainment properties outside of the bounds of the black box in the living room, and building and nurturing vibrant participatory fan communities in the Social Media space.
Over the last 24 months Deborah Day has been working with clients on evolving their product or business strategies by leveraging digital and social media to their advantage. With over 20 years as an award-winning film and television producer/director, communication, strategy and creative thinking are Deb's finely tuned skills. While always passionate about storytelling and connecting with audiences, Deb has moved away from exclusively evolving her own projects to working with producers, creators, entrepreneurs, organizations and businesses to evolve theirs. On the series InSecurity, for example, she was interactive producer on the series and was integral to the design and execution of the series website, digital/social media platforms and content extensions. Over the last 20 years Deb has maintained a commitment to training, consulting to a multitude of organizations that include ImagiNATIVE, Just For Laughs, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, NSI, ACTRA, WIFT, to names a few. Deb has been involved with many not-for-profit associations and boards.
