Getting Extra Credit - What you should know about tax credits.

Tax credits in Ontario support innovation and production labour, and can be an extremely useful forms of project financing. The recent Ontario government’s 2009 budget included significant improvements to the province's competitive edge for interactive media. These include an increased rate of up to 40% and and expansion of the eligibility criteria for the Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit (OIDMTC). The federal government has long offered a tax credit for Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) at up to 35% which can be paired with the Ontario Innovation Tax Credit (10%) and applied to different types of technology development expenditures for digital media firms.

How can these credits affect your next financing plan? How do innovation and labour tax credits work together (or not)? Are you prepared to do all the paperwork? When should you seek professional help?

Join us for an in-depth discussion and analysis of the new OIDMTC, the SR&ED and the OITC, including the types of activities that they are intended to support and the impact it can have on your business.
