Bring your laptops as there’s free Wi-Fi so you can Twitter or blog live from the event. Panelists for iLunch 7.01 Mark Bishop – Partner/Producer marblemedia Mark is the co-founder of marblemedia. He has guest lectured at Ryerson University, the Canadian Film Centre, WIFT-T, and Sheridan College among others. He has also acted as a curriculum advisor and instructor of new media at Centennial College and Ryerson University. He is a board member and vice president of Interactive Ontario, as well as a member of the Alliance for Children and Television, the Canadian Film and Television Production Association, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
Charles Zamaria - Moderator Professor Zamaria is a tenured faculty member at Ryerson University and is appointed Research Fellow at the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, York University. He serves as Principal Investigator for the Canadian Internet Project (www.cipic.ca) – a longitudinal research study that examines the behaviour and attitudes of Canadians towards the Internet, mobile devices and emerging new technologies (2004, 2007.) As a member of the World Internet Project, CIP compares its findings with thirty research centres around the world. He has led and participated in several international missions, forums and gatherings that examine content development, exchanges and strategies, from both creative and business perspectives. Concurrently, he is Financial Director for several film, television and new media content funding agencies in Canada (Bell Fund, Independent Production Fund, Cogeco Fund, Canwest Alberta Fund ). His background is as an independent producer, broadcast executive and until recently, he ran a sanctuary for abused and mistreated chickens.
Jody Shapiro Jody Shapiro is a filmmaker and photographer. Jody formed his production company, Everyday Pictures Inc. in 2004. Ice Breaker, a full length documentary shot aboard the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Henry Larsen, Jody's most recent project, was produced in association with CBC Newsworld and had its world premiere at the HOT DOCS documentary festival in 2005. Prior to starting his own company, Jody worked as a producer for Rhombus Media where he produced such projects as Guy Maddin's award winning feature film, The Saddest Music in the World, Kevin McMahon's documentary An Idea of Canada and Larry Weinstein's Beethoven's Hair. Jody also produced the Preludes, ten short films celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Toronto International Film Festival. These included the Genie nominated short, Camera, directed by David Cronenberg and Guy Maddin's Genie winner, The Heart of the World. Jody collaborated once again with Guy Maddin and Isabella Rossellini in producing a short film based upon the work of Roberto Rossellini: MY DAD IS 100 YEARS OLD premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival. Jody has most recently worked with Maddin as DOP and Executive Producer of My Winnipeg and Co-Directed the Green Pornos series with Rossellini. Jody joined the board in August of 2005 and became Co-Chair in September 2007
Trevor Fencott - Managing Partner & CEO, Bedlam Games Trevor brings eight years of game industry experience to the Bedlam management team and has been credited on more than 20 games including Playboy: The Mansion, Pariah and Land of the Dead. He was co-founder and president of boutique video game publisher, Groove Games. Previously, as a practicing attorney, Trevor guided the video game practice at the law firm Goodmans LLP and Goodmans Venture Group, where he advised developers, publishers and the investment community on licensing, game development and financing.
